I wanted to share with you one of the most beautiful places in Maine. It's called Mount Katahdin, or the Indians of hundreds of years ago referred to it, The Greatest Mountain. Mount Katahdin (kuh-tah'-din) is just a few feet shy of being a mile high and is the highest point in Maine. The Greatest Mountain is both breath-taking and rugged at the same time, thus adding to its mysterious "personality".
I wrote a post on Mount Katahdin way back in July of last year, before I was made aware of this video, that gives a nice history of the Mountain and the people who revered it. Take a look at the post then view the video and you'll see why so many of yesteryear, as well as today, hold The Greatest Mountain in such awe and with great respect for its beauty, ruggedness and spiritual appeal to the Natives of the area.
I hope you enjoy a look at Mount Katahdin, The Greatest Mountain.
P.S. In the right sidebar of the YouTube Page for Mount Katahdin, there are links to many more videos of The Greatest Mountain taken by every day people like you and me. They are, on the whole, very good vids. Bookmark the page and check them out when you have the time.
